2023 MINI Convertable
The MINI Cooper Convertible is a fun and stylish compact with a retro but modern design. The convertible, like the other MINI Coopers, has a high-quality interior and lots of options for customizing. For the 2023 model year, a new Resolute Edition package is available. It adds a black soft top, black mirror caps, and frosted bronze exterior trim. Here's a look at some of the features and equipment you can get with the 2023 MINI Cooper Convertible.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level MINI Cooper Convertible is the Cooper. It has 15-inch alloy wheels, all-season tires, LED headlights, and heated side exterior mirrors. It also comes with automatic windshield wipers and has an electronically controlled soft top that folds up and down in just 18 seconds when traveling up to 18 mph. The Cooper S adds 16-inch wheels and offers summer tires, while the John Cooper Works has 17-inch wheels. MINI also offers several subtrims. The Signature has an adaptive suspension, and the Iconic has power-folding side mirrors.
The optional Sidewalk Package adds a wind deflector and power-folding mirrors, and the Sidewalk Edition of the Cooper S has 17-inch wheels, a soft top, exterior stripes, and power-folding mirrors.
Engine (Power)
Power for the base 2023 MINI Cooper Convertible comes from a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder gas engine that makes 134 horsepower. The Cooper S gets a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder that delivers 189 horsepower, and the John Cooper Works gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 228 horsepower. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission comes with the Cooper and Cooper S, while the John Cooper Works has an eight-speed automatic.
Performance
Any of the engines have plenty of power for the small MINI Cooper. The 2.0-liter turbo engine in the Cooper S will propel it to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds, and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly through the gears. The MINI Cooper convertible has a firm suspension, making this little car fun to drive.
Interior
There's room for four in the MINI Cooper Convertible, and it has a surprising amount of rear legroom. It comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, imitation leather upholstery, and height-adjustable front seats. The Cooper S Convertible adds sport seats, and the John Cooper Works adds performance sport seats. The Signature trim comes with heated front seats, and the Iconic adds a heated steering wheel and leather upholstery.
Technology in the MINI Cooper Convertible includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo system. You'll get a 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system in the Iconic trim, which also adds navigation and a wireless charging pad. The Cooper S Sidewalk Edition also adds the 12-speaker stereo and navigation, along with a head-up display.
Safety Features
Every 2023 MINI Cooper Convertible has a few advanced driver aids. These include a forward collision warning system, lane-departure warning, and rear parking sensors. The Iconic adds a head-up display, and you can get this as an option in the other trims. The Driver Assistance Package is available if you want an automated parking system and a head-up display.
